Puppy Wellness

Puppies age rapidly, and it pays to be aware of their changing bodies as they quickly grow into adulthood. It’s important to bring your puppy into our practice for an introductory wellness visit, as young pets have a less mature immune system than their adult counterparts, making them more vulnerable to infections and diseases. We can provide the tools necessary to help your puppy grow into a healthy, well-mannered dog by providing information and advice on nutrition, behavior, training, and socialization.

Our team performs comprehensive wellness examinations to evaluate your young pet’s health status and determine if it’s time to receive their first core puppy vaccinations. Pet vaccinations will help protect your puppy against common issues like rabies, distemper, parvovirus, roundworms, and more.

Kitten Wellness

Our kitten wellness and vaccination programs will help them get started on the right foot for a long and healthy life. The first few months are an important period in a kitten’s development, and we can help them grow into healthy and happy adult cats by including information and advice on nutrition, litterbox training, behavior, and much more.

Until your kitten has received a series of pet vaccinations, he or she is susceptible to many serious but preventable diseases. We will vaccinate your kitten to create a sturdy defense against rabies, panleukopenia (distemper), feline leukemia virus (FeLV), and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). In addition, your kitten will need to be tested and treated for parasites, which are common in young cats.

Adult Pet Wellness

Once your pet has grown into adulthood, helping them receive annual wellness checkups, diagnostics, and pet vaccinations can keep them healthy for the approaching year. Pet wellness exams will help our focused veterinary team catch any hidden diseases or conditions early. Early detection can improve the prognosis of many diseases, keep medical costs down, and improve their overall longevity. It’s important to take a proactive approach to your pet’s health, as the risks of arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, hormone disorders, and kidney and liver problems all increase with age.

Our comprehensive pet wellness exam begins by carefully inspecting your pet’s ears, eyes, nose, teeth, heart, and lungs. We will search for any signs of abnormalities located internally or on the surface of their skin, like lumps, masses, hernias, or rashes. When your pet is nearing his or her senior years, we will recommend a baseline exam and diagnostic workup using our in-house laboratory, so we can determine what’s normal for your pet.

Senior Pet Wellness

As dogs and cats get older, they need more attention and special care tailored to their aging bodies. Our senior wellness program can help your pet remain fit and healthy as they enjoy their twilight years. In most cases, dogs are considered geriatric at seven years old, while cats are considered senior at eight years old. Once your furry family member has reached their golden years, they will greatly benefit from more frequent pet wellness exams and diagnostic testing.

We can treat many issues that are commonly attributed to age, including those associated with cognitive dysfunction syndrome (similar to Alzheimer’s in humans). Our senior pet wellness visits can also improve their quality of life in many ways by preventing or reducing pain, creating a personalized nutrition and exercise plan, and suggesting environmental modifications.
